China Dolls

I had my eye on these stamps for a long time. I resisted the urge to purchase them for a while because I just couldn't find a place that had reasonable shipping. Sooooo... I waited until I had a big enough order and I got a few Hero Arts stamps! Yeah buddy!! This set has to be my favorite. I made a few cards for some friends using some lovely SU cardstock and tab punch, nestabilities, stickles, glossy accents and assorted ribbons.
Enjoy and thanks for looking : )

JuJu's Birthday Card

Hola Friends,

This is my nephew Julian's birthday card. I was so excited to use my new sewing machine on this project and I really like how it looks on the card. I used Maya Road chipboard trees which I painted with Adirondack dabbers, SU craft stock for the background and paper from DCWV Green Stack which I love, love, love. I love it so much in fact, I didn't want to use it. I just wanted to preserve it intact for all eternity LOL. Okay that's a bit much but you get my drift. There are certain papers that I just fall in love with and I don't dare use them. It's weird I know but not that uncommon. I have a few scrapping friends who feel the same way : )

Enjoy and thanks for looking!

Cardlings/Scraplings

Greetings!

I have been very busy these last few months and I apologize for not having posted anything recently. I will make up for that by posting more often during the summer (I hope...). Now that the apology is out of the way and you have graciously accepted it, lets move on to something fun.

A friend of mine (Hi Salima!) organized a little cardlings swap. What are cardlings also called scraplings you ask? Well I'll tell you. They are little itty bitty cards made from the scraps that are left over when you make an A2 sized card from an 8 1/2 X 11 piece of cardstock. I have also heard the term scraplings used for this. They can be used as bookmarks or little gift cards. Of course you would have to make your own customized envelope.
This was a fun project and a little challenging to work on such a small scale. I did a nature theme for mine which included (drumroll please........) owls! These are 4.25" by 1.5" when folded. There is a great gallery of scraplings on www.splitcoaststampers.com you can check out.

Enjoy!
